October 18, 1963 - MLK Jr. speaks in Stepan Center

Martin Luther King Jr. made many speeches on civil rights throughout the United States. Today in 1963 King spoke in the recently built Stepan Center (which was completed in 1962). The event was organized by the South Bend Citizens' Civic Planning Committee (SBCCPC) and the event was expected to draw a full house. The Notre Dame archives has a video of the speech.
