February 28, 2011 - Basketball Shooting Clinic


In the final home game of the season, #7 Notre Dame had no problem dispatching #19 Villanova. From the opening tip to the final whistle, the entire team got involved in a three point storm. The first half alone saw 11 three point shots go down. All together, the team made a school record 20 three point shots (out of 32 attempts).

Ben Hansbrough would become the second player in the last fifteen seasons to have at least 30 points, 10 assists, and 5 steals. Tim Abromaitis's 9 three point field goals is second most in Irish history (behind Kyle McAlarney with 10, and ahead of Colin Falls with 8).

Notre Dame would go on to a record setting regular season, 25-5 and finishing second in the Big East with a conference record of 14-4.
