May 11, 1980 - Crossroads Park

Have you ever walked out of Lafortune towards Hayes Healy and noticed a circular pattern of bricks in the walkway? Until the early 2000s (pre-2003), there used to be a fountain in the quad enclosed by Lafortune, Crowley, Hayes Healy, and Nieuwland.

Crossroads Park was a senior design project by Paul Linehan that he saw become a reality in 1976. The design included a circular brick walkway and hexagonal fountain. Today in 1980, Father Hesburgh rededicated Crossroads Park as the Joseph W. Evans Memorial Crossroads Park.
