March 12, 2015 - The First ACC Tournament Win

Last year, ND struggled without Jerian Grant in their first season as an ACC member. They were the 13 seed in the ACC Tournament and lost the very first game of the tournament, heading home before some teams even arrived. Declining any potential post-season invitation, the season ended early.

This year, ND powered their way through the ACC with wins against Duke, UNC, NC State, and Wake Forest (all four of the North Carolina teams) plus Louisville. As the number 3 seed, Notre Dame didn't start playing until the quarterfinals and met former Big East foe Miami.

Notre Dame quickly and easily raced out to a 18 point lead by halftime, behind 8-13 shooting from three. However, as the second half started the team forgot there was 20 minutes to play. Miami went on a 19-2 run to open the half and the Irish saw their large lead disappear into a two point deficit. The Irish held on and fought their way back for their first tournament win.
